Workshop and Development Program

Initial Contact

The first stage to working together. We hold a Zoom or call with your minister or congregational life director to establish connection, overview the program, and discuss if this is a good fit. Afterwards, if we proceed, we prepare for the workshop, including identifying young adults in the church who either are involved with ministry or want to try with our help.

A note on program cost: Our pricing scales to congregation size and consists of two components: a workshop/travel fee and a pro-rated annual subscription. Our goal is long term growth for your congregation. Working with us is an investment in future pledgers, volunteers, and leaders in your community. We are confident that there will be a return on your investment. For more information, fill out our contact form.

Weekend Workshop

A member of our team flies or drives to your congregation on a Saturday. Time and weather permitting, they meet with the core ministry and leadership team for dinner that evening or breakfast before Sunday worship. During Sunday worship, we observe your order of service, volunteers, and welcoming system from the perspective of a hypothetical young adult visitor. After worship, we hold a workshop with your ministry team and, most importantly, with any and all young adults who can make it. This workshop includes an example of the kind of small-group, facilitated ministry that we’ve pioneered; a discussion of what is working and what isn’t for your 20s and 30s; and a preliminary plan with clear steps and check-ins for you to take over the next few months. A final check-out with the minister allows us to provide feedback on church culture and structure.

Ongoing Support

After the workshop, we will remain in contact to support your young adult ministry as it grows — and especially if it struggles. When we work with you, it’s because we believe you can succeed. Our team will check in with a designated point person every month over a call, and we can answer questions as they arise. We will also provide regularly updated programming PDFs and ideas for discussion groups and social nights.

Post-workshop cost: After an initial month of support, if the partner church and UU 2030 want to continue working together, we will switch to an annual subscription scaled to congregation size. We believe that you will see the numerous benefits within a few months, but if at any point you wish to discontinue, we will reimburse the remaining year’s fee on a pro-rated basis.
